Not just talk: strong interest for follow-up after the first contact during Biotech Umeå Investment Day 2018
The ninth edition of Biotech Umeå’s annual partnering event was the first ever to fill up before deadline. Around 30 Swedish and European investors met with 13 startups and early cases. Two weeks after the event participants report an impressive turnout – on average they have retained at least five active leads per company.

The first ever edition of Meet Umeå Life Sceince gathered over 70 branch experts, entrepreneurs and researchers in Stockholm. Nystartat Umeåbolag får nationellt uppdrag att införa e-hälsoapp för mag och tarmkroniker
Den Umeåbaserade startupen Biosolens har officiellt tilldelats ett nationellt uppdrag att införa det digitala verktyget Patient VoiceTM. Appen gör att personer med kroniska mag- och tarmproblem löpande kan rapportera sitt sjukdomstillstånd, och vårdpersonal kan då korrigera och anpassa behandlingen direkt.

Umeås spetsinkubator klassas åter som excellent och får nya anslag från Vinnova
Sedan 2012 har Umeå Biotech Incubator (UBI) varit en av de utvalda inkubatorerna inom det så kallade ”Excellensprogrammet”. Under maj-juli 2017 utvärderade Vinnova programmets sökande med 14 platsbesök och intervjuer runtom i landet. Nu kommer beskedet att UBI återigen klassas som excellent och därmed beviljas två miljoner per år under 2018 och 2019.
